Making the choice to 'adapt & grow'

Following on from a rewarding career advising corporates and other large organisations on how to craft and deliver impactful wellbeing, diversity & inclusion strategies, I'm now excited to be working with individuals to tap into their inner resources, so they can improve their wellbeing and work towards the health they want!

I started Adapt & Grow Coaching to support people facing health issues, conditions and challenges to rebuild their lives and feel vibrant once again. I have a deep passion to coach others following on from my own health journey. In recent years, I've gone from a hectic schedule to being mainly bedbound to restoring my health and finding balance.

In early 2020 I caught Covid, but instead of recovering, I found myself relapsing with a vast array of symptoms. My busy life, full of work, family and social commitments came to an abrupt halt. Faced with debilitating fatigue, very limited energy and no clear answers, I resolved to stay hopeful and to research strategies for recovery.

Fast forward five years later, when I earned my Health & Wellness Coaching certificate I found myself struggling to land on a name for my coaching practice. And then the phrase 'adapt & grow' crystallised in my mind. Through the experience of losing and regaining my health, I had found meaning by adapting to my circumstances and focusing my outlook on opportunities for personal growth. I firmly believe that health challenges can make us strong, resilient and better equipped to live life aligned with our purpose and filled with joy.

You can read about my own recovery journey in the Letter of Hope for patients with Long Covid. , whilst I was a patient advisor to NHS. I believe that with imagination, resilience and the right support, we can create our unique vision for health and make it our reality.

My philosophy and qualifications

I've always been fascinated by how individuals make decisions and how their free will (or agency) is affected by the structure and power dynamics of broader society. A coaching approach aligns with my values and way of thinking because it is a flexible, non-judgemental framework that allows us to focus on what we can control, whilst freeing us from dwelling on concerns outside our immediate influence. In the long run, by strengthening ourselves, we are better equipped to effect change in the broader world.

I am proud to have gained my Health & Wellness Coach certificate with the leading UK training provider Health Coaches Academy. I completed a rigorous, 12-month accredited course with over 600 hours of learning and coaching. I'm fully insured and a full member of the UK and International Health Coaching Association, the body that sets standards for Health Coaches here and abroad.

Previously, I studied International Affairs at The George Washington University and I hold an MSc in Political Sociology (Distinction) from the London School of Economics.
